Like the other commercial centres in Katong, the Flow is in an awesome spot for shopping, but it isn’t directly beside an MRT station.

You have a few options to get there.

We recommend using the MRT and then connecting with a bus to a stop right near the mall. But, you can also walk from a station to The Flow.

We will summarize each step of getting there and also share information about which type of MRT card is the best (according to your personal circumstances in Singapore).

Shopping at the Flow @ East Coast in Katong

The Flow at East Coast is a modern, mixed-use commercial centre right in the heart of Katong’s shopping district. It consists of 7-storeys filled with shops, medical offices, restaurants, cafes and a food court.

The four primary levels at The Flow offer a mix of 56 units to serve customers.

When you are walking toward The Flow, you will be impressed with its striking facade. It might not be the largest shopping mall in Katong, but it’s definitely one of the newest and most contemporary places to visit.

According to guest reviews, parking here can be an issue, so you are better off following these directions below as opposed to driving and parking there.

But if you have the choice, opt for a hotel or hostel within walking distance of a station.

Paya Lebar Station

Promenade Station

You can use either one of these to get on the Circle Line.

Most commuters in Singapore now use tap-and-go cards for the MRT and trains.

There are two main types of cards available.

  1. Tourist Passes
  2. Stored Value Cards

The most popular cards for getting around are stored value cards. You can buy one, top it up with cash, and you’ll be good to go!

We used a stored value card while discovering how to get to the Flow at East Coast by MRT.

Singapore Tourist Passes are another card alternative, but they are intended for foreign, short-term travellers. They work best if you plan to visit a pile of places over a few days.

Even credit cards can be used if the tap or wave feature works.
