Step 1: Select a hotel right beside an MRT Station.

We have written this guide with the assumption that you are not staying on Sentosa Island. Therefore, staying close to an MRT station helps sets the stage for an efficient and affordable itinerary in Singapore.

First, focus on booking a room within 500 meters or less from a station. You can then quickly access the system and get to multiple destinations faster. Remember, Singapore gets super hot!

Here are two popular hotels for guests who want direct access to MRT stations:

Fairmont Singapore (8.9/10 Review Score) (Esplanade Station)

The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore (9.3/10 Review Score) (City Hall Station)

Staying at either one of these ensures quick access to transportation on your way to Sentosa 4D AdventureLand.

Step 2: Buy an MRT Ticket to HarbourFront Station

Getting to Sentosa 4D AdventureLand using public transportation is really straightforward with some basic planning.

Your first step should be riding the MRT to HarbourFront Station.

When you access the first MRT station, you will quickly have to decide what kind of ticket you plan on using for your trip.

At the time of writing there are three different types of MRT tickets that can be used:

  1. Single journey trip tickets
  2. Stored value cards
  3. Singapore Tourist Passes

The type of MRT ticket you use to reach Sentosa 4D AdventureLand really comes down to the following questions:

How long are you in the city? And….

How frequently do you plan on using the MRT and bus network?

Single journey tickets, for instance, are ideal for tourists that are not going to use public transportation a lot. You can simply purchase these at ticketing machines in each station.

These are the most expensive form of ticket per trip,  However, you are not obligated to use transportation extensively if you only get one every time you use the system.

Stored value cards can be purchased once and then you can top them up with cash and simply tap to enter and exit each station.  They are very popular with Singaporeans and long-term visitors to the city. Similarly, the cost per trip is less than a single journey ticket.

Staying 1-3 Days???

Singapore Tourist Passes are ideal for ‘busy travellers’. If you plan on sightseeing a lot this is definitely the best option for saving money. However, if you do not plan on seeing a lot of different attractions in Singapore then you might want to just get a stored-value card or purchase single journey tickets throughout your trip in the city.
