We used a stored-value card (an EZlink Card to be exact) when we were first figuring out how to get to Cloud Forest by MRT. These are popular with Singaporeans and visitors staying more than 3 days in the city.
You might want to use a Singapore Tourist Pass to get to Cloud Forest if you are in the city for 3 days or less and plan on doing a lot of sightseeing. These allow you to take multiple rides on the MRT and bus network in the city.

Step 3: Take the MRT to Bayfront Station
There are few different MRT lines that service trains to Bayfront Station, Marina Bay and Cloud Forest. Therefore, you should have some familiarity with the MRT Network in Singapore so that you know if you need to transfer lines along the way.
The two lines that service trains to Bayfront Station are:

Downtown Line (Green)

Step 4: Get off at Bayfront Station
Alight at Bayfront Station, and remember to bring all your stuff (camera, etc.)
All you have to do is simply ‘tap’ to exit the MRT system if you are using a stored-value card or a Singapore Tourist Pass.
Step 5: Walk from Bayfront Station to Cloud Forest.
There are actually multiple ways that you can walk from Bayfront Station to Cloud Forest. You might want to walk through the air-conditioned Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (Directions) and then along the Marina Bay waterfront to Cloud Forest. Although scenic, this is not the fastest way to reach Cloud Forest from the MRT network!
Instead, the fastest way to walk from Bayfront Station to Cloud Forest is to use the underpass from the station.
In order to walk this way from Bayfront Station to Cloud Forest, first, take Exit B at Bayfront Station. Then, walk through the underground linkway east towards Gardens by the Bay.
Exit the underground linkway, follow the signs and then cross Dragonfly Bridge into Gardens by the Bay. Follow the signs which will guide you along walkways in the northeast direction until you reach the entrance to Cloud Forest.
The walk from Bayfront Station to Cloud Forest is about 900 m and this should take you approximately 11-minutes.
Should you stay near Cloud Forest while you are in Singapore?
As mentioned before Cloud Forest is situated in one of the best areas in Singapore for seeing attractions and skyline views. Actually, it is safe to say that very few tourists visit Singapore without exploring the direct area around Cloud Forest.
Walking in this area of the city is truly a delight. Many tourists often just walk around Marina Bay taking photos and videos of the skyline view. An added bonus is that many of Singapore’s best hotels are also within walking distance Marina Bay and Cloud Forest. Hotels around Marina Bay tend to be quite expensive, but you will experience amazing service and spotless rooms.
