Getting to Helix Bridge using the MRT 

Step 1: Find a station near your hotel and get a ticket.

After you have booked a hotel room near an MRT station it is time to walk to the station to get your tickets sorted. Ideally, you find a place to stay that is only a few minutes from the station. This will make your trip to the Helix Bridge much more efficient because you completely avoid getting in vehicles. 

Then, once you get to your station it’s time to figure out what kind of ticket you are going to use to get to Helix Bridge.  At the time of writing, there are two main types of MRT tickets in Singapore that you can use.  The type that you select really depends on how frequently you want to use the train and how long you were staying in the city.

Step 2: Plan on going Bayfront or Promenade Station.

There are actually multiple MRT stations that you can use to get to Helix Bridge in Singapore.  In this article we will outline into two most convenient stations for getting to this scenic bridge in Marina Bay:

Bayfront Station (Downtown Line (Blue) and Circle Line (Orange)

Promenade Station (Downtown Line (Blue) and Circle Line (Orange)

As you can see above these two stations are actually located on the same MRT lines. They are adjacent to one another and located on opposite sides of Helix Bridge.


Step 3: Take the MRT to Bayfront or Promenade Station

Since both Bayfront in Promenade station is on the same lines all you have to do is make sure that you are travelling on the Downtown or Circle line to get to Helix Bridge.

To help with this, refer to the train map that is located in the station you are starting at.  This will help you to make sure that you know where you need to transfer lines if necessary.

Also, while you are travelling on the train to Helix Bridge expect to hear verbal announcements being made to inform you of upcoming stations. When you hear a neighbouring station being announced, it’s time to get closer to an exit because you’ll be getting off at the next stop.

Step 4: Alight at Bayfront or Promenade Station.

Bayfront Station is located south of Helix Bridge whereas Promendage Station is located to the north. Once you decide which one you want to stop and get off at, be sure to collect all of your belongings from the train. 


Step 5: Walk from Bayfront or Promenade Station to Helix Bridge.

Get off the train at Bayfront or Promenade. Next, it’s time to walk from either one of these stations to Helix Bridge. Bayfront Station is very popular because it is used by guests staying at Marina Bay Sands Hotel and also those visiting Sands SkyPark and Gardens By the Bay

Walking from Bayfront Station to Helix Bridge

Bayfront Station is positioned south of Helix Bridge. 

Take Exit D to walk from Bayfront Station to Helix Bridge. From here you can walk either behind Marina Bay Sands Hotel, along the waterfront, or even through the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. It really doesn’t matter.

Walking along Marina Bay is the most scenic, but walking through the mall is air-conditioned! Regardless, the walk from Bayfront to Helix Bridge is 800 meters which should take you about 8-10 minutes.

Walking from Promenade Station to Helix Bridge

Promenade Station is positioned north of Helix Bridge. 

Take Exit A to walk from Promenade Station to Helix Bridge. This will bring you out onto Raffles Boulevard. Then, simply walk south along Temasek Avenue to Helix Bridge. You will walk past The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore on the way.
