Singapore Indoor Stadium – Interesting Information Before You Arrive
Singapore Indoor Stadium is a 12,000-seat indoor sports area that is located in Kallang. It first opened back in 1989, and over the years, it has hosted numerous athletic competitions and concerts. It is the annual home of the Singapore Badminton Open and has welcomed electrifying shows from acclaimed international artists such as Elton John and Taylor Swift.
The convenient thing about visiting Singapore Indoor Stadium is that you will also have direct access to other exceptional athletic facilities within Singapore Sports Hub. Singapore National Stadium, for example, is only 1 minute away from the Indoor Venue. If you visit this area of Singapore, you will have no shortage of family activities to enjoy, such as tennis, ice skating and bowling (among other things).
Although the maximum seating capacity is 12,000, Singapore Indoor Stadium often welcomes fewer guests depending on the stage requirements or the number of court spaces used during athletic competitions. Since it has a much lower capacity relative to its neighbour, the National Stadium, the indoor venue has a more intimate atmosphere during live performances.
Singapore Indoor Stadium is only a few kilometres east of the world-famous Marina Bay and Singapore’s famous skyline. You can visit here quickly and easily using public transportation from the downtown area of the city.
Step-by-Step Details – Getting to Singapore Indoor Stadium by MRT
Step 1: Walk to the most convenient station.
The first step in getting to Singapore Indoor Stadium is to walk to the most convenient station. Singaporeans and permanent residents likely already know which station to go to, but this may not be the case for visitors.

To maximize your use of public transportation, being 500 metres or less from a station makes your life a lot easier. Get to and from stations without spending money on taxis and avoid Singapore’s intense afternoon sun.
Fortunately, you should have no problem finding convenient hotels in Singapore. There are hundreds of hotels near stations. Refer to the popular list below, where we have included very high rated hotels within 2-3 minutes of stations:
